If you are reading this, may I tell you this is not really my first blog entry. After several days into blogging,I have utterly realized why I started in the first place.
Back in college, eight years ago,I was a member of the school’s publication which served as the voice of the studentry. Since then,I got fully engrossed with writing news, poems, reviews, and even stories. But to tell you frankly, the tasks and responsibilities I had were never stress-free.
I struggled most in expressing my contemplations due to vocabulary insufficiencies and insecurities. “This is not good enough, I am not good enough”, I could clearly hear myself saying.Deadlines we’re really toxic then, and I hate to say that I wasn’t able to submit the given tasks during cutoffs.
Expectedly, the editors chided me for too much dawdling, and that made me more lethargic and unresponsive. A couple of years later, I quitted.
I write not to impress but to express.
Now, I’m back and I want to restart that fragmented part of my past. I have this robust penchant for writing and I’m more certain to continue it.
Why blogging?
Obviously, using this platform, I can express my thoughts freely without any inhibitions. I have a voice here.
This means that I can spread out the things I like or don’t like, even those things that can help to change the world.
I am writing not to impress but to express. With love and optimism, may the good Lord guide me in this journey I am about to embark on.

Your writing is making me think “why do I write!” It’s easy to say i write for noble ideals. But I also hope to break thru, be recognized, etc. However. I don’t see a contradiction between wanting to make a living and being spiritually correct, as it were.

I didn’t mean to confuse you,but I think if you’re totally happy with what you, it doesn’t matter as much if people recognize you or not.Don’t be bothered, you’re doing really really great.

No I like questioning myself. That’s how I can move forward, get out of a rut. I guess my best answer would be that every word, every thing we do should be a constant discernment. Because you are a religious/spiritual person I believe you’ll get that! In my case I want a bit of recognition because I have the goal of helping to develop things the way they should go. This is either my personal dream or God’s will. Time will tell. It always does… π

Your words made me think either.I would affirm with what you mentioned. One should continue learn and relearn, think and rethink to escape from the usual, monotonous life.Whatever your purpose is whether it is personal or spiritual,I honestly think lol that it’ll contribute much in the development of things, like changing the world and making it a better place for usπ

I hope so. Sometimes I feel like I’m talking to deaf ears and there’s little point in carrying on. But then I’m back at it. Incidentally, after u mentioned Spanish roots I went to wiki. Of course… Interesting history. Sad sort of synchronicity re events in Spain. π

I am finding that expressing myself on a blog “freely without any inhibitions” to be virtually impossible. There is always the worry of what people think and the feeling that I’m always writing for an audience. Any tips you can share to get beyond this would be most welcome, Anabel. π

Insufficiency and insecurity happens with every language. I’ve only got 1 and a half languages under my belt and still find myself at a loss for words. Although I love to write, it is never about myself, so when I find someone who writes a slice of life moment of theirs, I feel humbled by their strength. Thank you for following and allowing me to see your style of writing. It is very beautifully written.

Congratulations, Lebana, you are on your way! While it’s true that deadlines and stress are a part of the deal, I find that one has that kind of thing in any job. Personally, deadlines help me to get myself in gear because I value the credibility in getting the job done. I think that comes with time and experience. You’ll really build up your confidence, the more you write, and blogging is a great way to work on your writing without a lot of pressure. (I’m a middle-age wife/mom, so I’m speaking from experience.) BTW, if this is just your 1st blog, congratulations! I can only dream of getting 100 comments! How do you do it.

Thanks again for reminding me.Well, half of them are just my replies.ππAsking how I do it,neither do I know.I have yet to figure out.I wish you more than a hundred comment,my friend. You deserve more.
