To the Man I Loved Before

Hello again from the Philippines! Thanks for checking in!

Hope you are having a fantastic day as you come across my blog. Here, I’ve come up with a simple poem depicting my scribbled thoughts and displeasures from a not so good experience in the past. Since many of you have already experienced to love, be loved, and get hurt, you can surely relate.

To the Man I Loved Before

Your love was imminent

When our eyes first met

Turning my troubles into ecstasies

Crumbling hopes into fantasies

Your love was certain

When you held me in your arms

After kissing me tenderly

Under the glittering stars

Your love was secured

When you thought of no one but me

We built our dreams together

Sharing laughters and tears

Your love was unsure

When you began to grow cold

You suddenly changed your heart

Tell me, what went wrong?

Your love was a joke

When you left me without a word

Sitting by the window, I pondered

Maybe, his love was not true

But now, I thank you for everything

Thank you for the bliss of parting

When you left, I restored myself

I also found the love that I deserve!

Hey! Please feel free to comment so I may know your thoughts and reactions about this poem. I’d love to hear from you.

  1. By uniting your mixed feelings, that is, happy and painful, you are taking your verses to the mystery of making poetry. And if you make one feel it as you have, then it is a good poem.

    1. Thank you. I must admit that I’m not that good in making poems.Just want to convey my feelings and release negativities through writing. Have a great day/night from where I live.
