Serendipity

We met down the boulevard,

One tempestuous evening,

It was too cold outside,

So I hastily took a ride.

He never asked my name,

Yet I heard a familiar sound–

A pounding heart, I thought,

And it irrefutably was.

Our worlds collided copious times,

Wherever I went, he emanated,

His shades kept on hunting me.

Was it serendipity?

Even in my reveries he arose,

Like a ruthless thief in the night,

Stealing my world and sanity,

Before my unprotected eyes.

One night, as I walked home,

Our paths have crossed again,

But this time, we talked,

Like we knew each other.

We relished that moment,

Sharing phrases and laughters,

Under the glittering stars—

Glorious and untainted

Before he left that night,

He muttered surprisingly,

“Lebana, where could I find love”

I then looked and smiled.
